- VEGAN FRIENDS: skip the cheese entirely or add some vegan cheese instead! You can also make them with butternut squash! (recipe)
- PALEO + WHOLE30: Skip the cheese in favor of a mountain of salsa and guac as your topping. YUM!
- T-REX: feel free to grab some bacon (yeah, I said it!) or add some shredded chicken or pork and have at it. This would be a fabulous way to use up leftovers from the night before!
Want to make these sweet potato nachos for a crowd?
Simply grab a few more sweet potatoes and some extra toppings and you’re good to go!
These make excellent party food and the leftovers can be popped in the microwave [or back in the oven!] and enjoyed the following day.
For crispier potatoes you can try [this faux-frying technique] on for size or even whip them up [casserole-style]
No excuses; make them!
so . . . how are they?!
Sweet, savory, and will forever be in recipe rotation in my kitchen. think it’s my goal in life to get everyone hooked on savory sweet potatoes in some shape or form.
Ok one of my goals, that is. Somewhere between learning how to sew and world domination…
Though I may just be watching too much Pinky and the Brain again.

Looks so tasty! We love sweet potatoes and are always looking for new ways to use them!
Thanks Shadi! It’s for sure one of our favorite ways to faceplant into sweet potatoes!
Oh my gosh this is my new favorite game day snack!
Yay! So perfect for game day!
These are genius. Simply genius!!
Just clicked over here from Brittany’s blog… these look incredibly delicious. YUM YUM YUM.
I’ve served the husband chickpea burgers, but we’ve never had sweet potato chickpea burgers. Wow. Now I have to check those out! We were planning to have sweet potato and black bean enchiladas tomorrow night – a first. Here’s hoping they go over well!
These have my mouth watering like CRAZY!!!! Gah! Want some for breakfast haha
I’ve been doing this with purple sweets, and they are phenomenal. I actually haven’t used cheese, though, so I guess they aren’t really nachos…more like a springboard for FUN. 😉
And now I know what I’m having for lunch tomorrow. =)
Oh my, these look so incredibly good! I just bought some sweet potatoes, so I might just have to make this!

What a creative “nachos”! I love baked sweet potatoes. Definitely want to try this soon!
Oh my heaven – this looks amazing. I will have to try them out. My favorite way to eat sweet potatoes is in a frie form. :-/
I’m the only one in my house that likes sweet potatoes. I think you’re right, though. These could convert the rest of the family!
We were just talking about making Irish Nachos! I’ll have to give these a try. Great idea!
Wow these look awesome! I’ve bookmarked them and am definitely going to give them a go.
Oh my goodness… this sounds like an AMAZING recipe! I’ve just started enjoying sweet potatoes (I used to hate them), and this seems like an ideal way to enjoy them!
Such a clever (awesome!!) idea. Can’t wait to test it out. 😀
That looks so good!! I have made sweet potato fries, and a burger, but nachos!! Yum! Will be making these for sure! New follower, and hoping to join in on the linkup tomorrow.
GENIUS! Absolutely genius. This is the best recipe I have seen all month. I am so making this!
Those look yummy!! I never would have thought to use sweet potatoes to make nachos out of (I guess that’s what you’re for right?)
Oh man, these are getting made SOON! Look delish & I can only imagine the sweetness of the potatoes compliment the cheese & salsa perfectly. Yum!
Oh that looks wonderful! I love any kind of potato, any way its fixed, so I’m sure I would enjoy these as well 🙂
I love sweet potato fries and sweet potato tater tots, but I’ve never had (or even heard of!) sweet potato chips before. This is an awesome idea. Definitely planning on making them once I get home. Thanks so much for sharing!
Wow those look amazing! I love sweet potatoes, i love them roasted, mashed, in fry form, any which way I will eat them…including this way now 🙂
Where have these been in my life? They look amazing. I definitely have two sweet potatoes I am going to be using for this soon. Lately I have just been roasting plain sweet potatoes and topping with coconut butter. It is a cross between a side for dinner and dessert.
I would KILL for this right now. I actually did something like it long ago, but the lazy man’s version – I used frozen sweet potato waffle fries. You rock!
I’d pick sweet potatoes over regular any day – although regular are still soo good for you 🙂
I have no clue the brand or even what it’s called, but my Mom used to use this nifty little electric gadget to slice her potatoes extremely thin so they cook crisp super quick. It would be good with this recipe to mimic the crunch of nachos!
I LOVE this idea!! Seriously..genius!! 🙂
I gave up chips over 2 years ago now…can’t believe I can actually say that! Anyway, this is an incredibly tantalizing substitute. I need to try them. Thanks for sharing the recipe, Jenn!
These look so yummy! And I only like savory sweet potatoes!
I literally eat a loaded sweet potato as part of my lunch every single day. I bake 5-10 at the beginning of the week and then reheat with leftover chicken, beans, roasted veggies, cottage cheese, greek yogurt, parmesan, etc. I would eat it for all 3 meals of the day if I didn’t think it would turn me bright orange!
Sounds deeeeelish! I should make this for my next family get-together. I love sweet potatoes all ways, but I typically favor sweet rather than savory recipes. I need to step outside of the box more!
Yummmm this sounds so good!!! I love sweet taters!
