If you've ever wondered how to make marinated mushrooms, this post is for you! These tasty homemade Italian Style Marinated Mushrooms are totally delicious and so easy to make!
½tspMrs. Dash Italian Medley(optional but delicious!)
Instructions
Keep smaller mushrooms whole or slice larger mushrooms into quarters.
Add to a medium pot along with vinegar, garlic, sugar, salt, and spices (basil, thyme, oregano, black pepper, and red pepper flakes along with optional Italian Medley)
Bring to a simmer and cook for 4-5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Transfer to a heat-safe bowl or jar and stir in bell pepper and olive oil. Allow to cool slightly then add lid and place in the refrigerator to continue marinating in the fridge overnight.
Enjoy cool or at room temperature - whichever floats your boat! It's going to take every ounce of self control you have not to devour them early, but trust me, they are 100% worth the wait. Serve plated with toothpicks because food is always more fun on a stick!
