These vegetable cream cheese tortilla roll ups are the most fun little pinwheel sandwich bites ever! They’re a great school lunch option but also make the most amazing appetizer or back to school snack!
These Vegetable and Cream Cheese Tortilla Roll Ups are my latest obsession!
They’re crazy hard to photograph but ohmygosh these little confetti-colored roll ups are goooooood!
You can serve them up in place of a sandwich at lunch or pile them on a plate as an appetizer for your next party or potluck.
These veggie and cream cheese tortilla pinwheels are SO easy to make!
Spread a burrito-sized tortilla with your cream cheese spread and top with a sprinkle of grated carrots, minced red bell pepper, chopped broccoli, and grated cheddar cheese.
Start at the edge of the tortilla and roll it, tightly, until you reach the opposite side.
The cream cheese will help it stick! Fasten with a toothpick or two and chill in the freezer for 20 minutes to set. Cut into pinwheels and serve with all your favorite lunch box fixin’s!
Vegetable Cream Cheese Tortilla Roll Ups – and easy make ahead lunch option!
To make these pretty pinwheels ahead of time, all you’ll need to do is skip the quick trip to the freezer to set and instead chill these in the fridge overnight wrapped in plastic wrap, parchment, or stored in your favorite airtight storage container.
So… what are you waiting for? Get your roll up on!
Vegetable Cream Cheese Tortilla Roll Ups
Ingredients
- 1 cup chopped veggies: broccoli, carrots, red bell pepper
- 4 oz cream cheese (softened)
- ⅓ cup mayo
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ¼ tsp dried dill
- ¼ tsp salt
- ⅛ tsp black pepper
- 2 large burrito-sized flour tortillas
- ½ cup grated cheddar cheese
- 2 TBSP chopped green onion
Instructions
- Choose and chop your veggies. I mince mine extra small so there's a little bit of everything in each tasty bite.
- Allow cream cheese to soften for easy mixing. In a medium bowl, combine cream cheese, mayo, garlic powder, dill, salt and pepper.
- For easy rolling, microwave tortillas for 15-20 seconds first. Spread on cream cheese mixture and sprinkle evenly with veggies, cheese, and chopped onion.
- Start at the edge of the tortilla and roll it, tightly, until you reach the opposite side.
- The cream cheese will help it stick. Fasten with a toothpick or two and chill in the freezer for 20 minutes to set.. Feel free to chill overnight in the fridge (tightly wrapped or in a storage container) if making these in advance for easy. meal/snack prep.
- All that's left is to slice into pinwheels and serve!

throwing a party?
Here are some awesome appetizers to serve alongside these tasty tortilla roll ups!
I made this recipe 3 times. The first time I didn’t read the recipe right and mixed all the veggies, cream cheese, etc. all together and put on the tortilla wraps. The 2nd and 3rd time I made them, I followed the recipe, putting the cream cheese layer, then topping with veggies and cheese. My way works so much better! My way sealed them much better and they stayed together beautifully.
I used fiber one garden veggie wraps, substituted the Mayo for plain Greek yogurt, used ranch seasoning, and added turkey for a protein packed lunch. Absolutely delicious! Thank you!
I made this fir a winter picnic and came home with an empty dish; it was a big hit.
These are so yummy….and easy to make.
These sound yummy. Could you use wraps instead?
Thanks Jan! You could absolutely use wraps!
I’ve made similar before, but added a thin slice of ham and turkey to them. Made them for part of our regular Sunday dinner or finger foods at an old people’s, mostly all were 60 and over, neighborhood type bar. I think I made at least 60 of the individual pinwheels. They were eaten up and many asked for my recipe. I couldn’t tell them as I actually didn’t have one.
Everyone loved them. But when I make again I would not put in freezer just put in refrigerator. I think that made the shell to moist.
This has become a favorite in our house! It’s a great snack and my kids love it in their lunches.
Do you use cooked or raw broccoli? Can’t wait to try these!
I use raw! So stoked for you to try them!
These are delicious! I substituted plain Greek yogurt for mayo and added little cayenne pepper, and other spices to taste.
Yay! I’m so glad you enjoyed them!
Used to make these in our Restaurant, but we added feta cheese to the cream cheese. Yummy
It’s super delicious, we prepared the recipe once at school in the cooking class and everyone was absolutely thrilled.
So happy the roll ups were a hit! Thanks Amelia!
Yummy! Easy and tasty recipe!
Excellent recipe. Made them with sour cream in lieu of mayo. Added 2 stalks green onions, green bell pepper, and carrots. The sauce was a bit lumpy after mixing by hand but was fine in the final product. Delicious! We ate them for lunch! Next time, I might use some yellow and red bell peppers instead of the green, but that would be just for color. Thanks for the recipe.
Love this – I’m obsessed with sour cream lol! For sure experiment with those veggie mix-ins – it’s fun to have a bevy of different colored veggies in there. Thanks Jeanne!
Is this 1 cup each of the vegetables or just 1 cup of vegetables combined?
Hi Marylin! 1 cup total – I mix and match based on what I have on hand.
I made these today, but forgot to put on the green onion. I am sure they will be delicious even without it. I made the cream cheese mixture, and added the cheddar to that and mixed it all up. That in itself would be great on a bagel.
So stoked you tried the recipe, Mary! You’ve 100% got to try the filing on a toasted bagel – it’s deeeeeelish! xoxo
Easy, fun, nutritious, and my husband loved them. Will make often. Thank you.
I have made this numerous times and love it.
I doubled this recipe and took to a Christmas party. Everyone loved them and wanted recipe. Definitely a make again.
Yay!!! So happy to hear it, Janet! Thanks!
My cousin made these for a family gathering and they were a hit! So delicious! She shared the recipe with me and I plan to make them soon.
How much is a serving?
Hi Brenda! I have it calculated appetizer style so the nutrition info in the recipe card is per pinwheel when you slice the recipe into 18 rounds. The portion can be much larger of course but I wanted to make it easy on everyone to calculate for how many they eat. Hope this helps! xo
These are delicious!! Love this recipe! Thank you!
These are delicious! Made a double batch for our annual Christmas Eve gathering with family and they disappeared fast! Family requested them again a week later for NYE! Thanks for a great recipe!
Is there something you can substitute cream cheese with?
Hey Brenda! So it’s a little odd sounding, but bear with me… chilled spinach dip! Kind of like my California veggie sandwich but in wrap/roll up form!
If you want to avoid the dairy or eggs in cream cheese and Mayo you can use kite Hill or miyoko’s cream cheese which is a cream cheese alternative plant-based version. It’s really good!
Am I able to make these without the mayo?
Hi Tori, I think so! The mayo is what makes the cream cheese more of a spread so I would try using whipped cream cheese to see if that helps?
I subbed sour cream for the mayo and it tastes great. My little guy is allergic to eggs.
Delicious!!! I added more veggies with less cream cheese mixture – so yummy!!
They’re the perfect vessel for #ALLTHEVEGGIES! So glad you enjoyed the recipe, Brittany!
This is so delicious! My kids love these too.
I’m so glad your kiddos are loving them! I taught my 7 year old how to make them so we can have these alllll the time! Love them so.
The perfect way to get my kids to eat their veggies. Delicious!
Thanks Allison!
This was the bomb diggity dog good! I stated at recipe and decided, “Oh why not? You have all the ingredients!” So glad I did. That hit the snack gremlin in the face! Pow!!! 😄
I’m so glad you enjoyed the roll up recipe, thank you!
Loved these roll-ups! I used neufchatel cream cheese, they were delicious. Thanks for the recipe.
Thanks Erica! So glad it worked with Neufchatel cream cheese!
These look so delicious and tasty! I can’t wait to make this!
So stoked for you to try them, Beth!
Mmm, so good — and I love that they do double duty as lunch or an appetizer!
They can really do it all! Thanks Tara!

It’s so good right?! Thanks Sarah!
