My sister is in town! Eeeee! The chickpea and I are out of our minds excited! The little party animal even woke early which means I need to keep today’s shenanigans short and sweet! Don’t worry – there’s sushi!

What I Ate Wednesday #219
[breakfast] An everything bagel with cream cheese and some fresh watermelon that I may or may not have swiped off chicken little’s plate. Shhh!
[lunch] homemade sushi [click here for my tutorial!] with sriracha, smoked salmon, avocado, cream cheese, red pepper and cucumber. We were feeling fancy so they got topped with extra avocado. I felt like I won the lottery with this particular avocado, it was so perfectly GREEN! #jackpot
There were at least 3 of these bad boys but I was too busy shoving them into my face while I took photos of this particular roll. This is totally how my process goes with nearly every recipe I post on the blog. I plate some to snap photos of while shoveling the remainder into my face between shots. Occasionally I’ll plan ahead and make myself a snack but I much prefer claiming quality control by eating the recipe I’m photographing. It gets a bit out of hand sometimes and I’ll eat my subject matter way too quickly and have to make it all over again. If I confessed the actual number of times this happened it’d be too embarrassing.

[dinner] spaghetti, homemade sauce, and green beans – simple and delicious!
