What I Ate Wednesday #102

WIAW has really turned into the Betty White of link parties, eh?  It’s sassy, snarky, and pretty darn old =)  I don’t think you have to worry about pranking senior citizens on its own reality show though.  It’s far too classy for that.  We hold up our pinkies while we plow through our veggies over here. [Hah!]

What I ate Wednesday Food Diary
What I Ate… on Friday! <3

My morning banana was in my face faster than I could take a photo =)  I paired it with black coffee and a handful of raw almonds while I got ready to start ze day.  Snacks were more almonds, veggies and dip, and a few mango ginger chews throughout the day.  Lunch a big spinach salad with veggie patch falafel, roma tomatoes, almond slivers, cranberries, and a drizzle of ranch dressing.  I could eat these daily!  I love the combination of cool greens with juicy tomatoes, nutty almonds and warm balls-o-chickpea.  Since it was a light day of eats, an indulgent dinner was in order!  P and I found a nearby Chinese restaurant with AMAZING reviews!  I had a steamy bowl of clear veggie broth soup with mushrooms, scallions, and won-ton crisps and a giant plate of carrots, zucchini, onion, broccoli, and mushrooms in a savory ginger sauce with fried rice.  My stomach is growling again just thinking about it!  SO good!  Later that night I had a chocolate bear and a few mugs of peppermint tea,  It’s the perfect sweet treat to end the day.
That felt kind of short.  And boring… Hmm…. How about I share some of my other recent eats from the past week or so?  This post needs more color!  And Veggies!
Buckets of them.  It’s my equivalent of a salad when I’m freezing my butt off.
Texture.  Toppings.  Tons-o-veggies.

We have been rolling our own at least once a week lately.
Not your typical cold-weather eats but normal is for the birds — I will eat this year-round!

    Everything looks great,Jenn, especially the sweet potato! Thought of you on New year’s eve. I was served a sweet potato bigger than my head and wanted to fall face first into it. So good! Happy 102!! You don’t look a day over… ;-)

    Did you eat your salad out of the spinach container? You did didn’t you? I knew there were a few more reasons out there for me to love you more and more! ;) That gingery veggie dish and fried rice sounds SO good right now…but I’m also at the end of my shift and practically ready to start chomping on my laptop right about now so that doesn’t really say much…burnt toast would probably look good too! Hey, I could just slather it in nut butter and that would totally counteract any of the possibly cancerous particles, right? ;)

    We’ve been making a lot of sushi at home recently too – once you find really fresh sashimi available, it’s hard to not! :) We are actually using an old placemat instead of a real sushi mat, because it just happens to be a similar material and works really well!
