What I Ate Wednesday #94 [Fall la la la la!]

[insert witty intro here... I've not yet had my coffee]
…What I Ate… Yesterday!…

[Coffee + Clementines!] As most of you already know, a ginormous mug of hot coffee is my morning happy.  I keep black and unadulterated and prefer my morning sweetness to come from fresh fruit.  Clementines one day.  Bananas the next.  Sometimes even a big bowl of strawberries — It does the trick and makes me feel great! [Lots. Of. Water.] My skin has been so dry with the climate change — commence water chugging! [Breakfast] 3 egg whites + 1 yolk with hot sauce + parsley and a few more mini clementines for good measure!  [Snack #1]  Crinkle Cut Carrot “Chips” [Snack #2] Fage Strawberry Greek Yogurt – SO GOOD!

[Lunch] The sashimi-grade tuna at the grocery store looked downright delicious so lunch consisted of thinly sliced sashimi alongside a small mountain of cucumber seasoned with vinegar and sriracha and covered with sesame and chia seeds.  I need to do this more often!  It was refreshing, delicious, and oh-so-spicy!  Excuse the crapola photo – mother nature decided to rain on my parade and It was dark and stormy all. day. long.

[Dinner] so you know how I’ve been OBSESSED with savory stuffed sweet potatoes? Well P finally worked up the nerve to try one!!!  He wasn’t formerly on team sweet potato, but now he’s head over heels!  Ohheckyes!  We each had a ginormous stuffed spud for dinner along with a little pinot grigio.  Well one of had a little, the other killed the bottle.  I’ll leave the identity of the lush up to your imagination.

So I toyed with the idea for this months theme so much that my raging indecisiveness got the best of me.  Since Thanksgiving falls on a Thursday, last November we had TWO back-to-back What I Ate Wednesday parties.  One the day prior followed by a What I Ate… on Thanksgiving shindig that we kept open all week long.  It was fun so… let’s do it again!  In the meantime, let’s keep our fall theme rolling through November.

    Yay for converting the boy to the land of savory sweet potato fun! I definitely need to have one sometime soon…it’s been too long! But what I REALLY want? Some of that sashimi! I’ve got to check the sushi counter at my grocery store and see if I can get my hands on some!

    I really need to stuff myself (my face?)–along with lots of other goodies–into a sweet potato. I tend to use winter squash for that…although I did somewhat recently have a plain old Idaho spud stuffed with sauerkraut and ketchup that made no sense…but was AMAZING. :)

    I hate taking pictures in artifical light as well. Stupid Autumn and Winter.

    I love starting my day with a cup of coffee as well, but has been replaced with cold and flu sachets the past few days :(

    Woop! Yes for being a bad [read:good] influence on the boy! >:D Silly boys just don’t know what’s good. And speaking of good… I usually go the sweet route when it comes to SP’s, but I do have to admit that they’re pretty fantastical when they’re savory. Gah! There you go influencing ME now ;)

    That sashimi looks ah-maz-ing.
    Like you, I MUST have my big cup of coffee in the mornings–which wasn’t possible today since we broke our carafe. Gas station coffee just doesn’t cut it!
    And yes, even with bad lighting, your sweet potato photo looks both lovely and delicious.

    I failed miserably at joining in WIAW this week after being struck down with a stomach bug & migraine at the same time. Even seeing a food-related word on Twitter made me want to barf. It was that bad! Luckily I’m all better now and really enjoying checking out all the beautiful eats on this page. Yours, Jenn, are stunning! :)
