I keep a Health and Fitness board on Pinterest that I check whenever I feel like I’m in a fitness funk. This particular pin gets me off the couch and in my sneakers nearly every time I read it:
I also try to keep my free weights and cross trainers in plain sight. They’re don’t exactly mesh with my decor, but when I see them, it acts as a subtle reminder that I need to use them!
Another motivator? I have a desktop calendar that I mark off every workout I complete on — I started it when Paul left for deployment and whenever I see a few blank squares pop up, I know it’s time to get back on track! It’s a great motivator for me and gives me a sense of accomplish when I look back at how far I’ve come. I plan on continuing this long after P returns.
Alarms Alarms Alarms! I set some reminding me what times my group exercise classes are and some simply to encourage me to get out and be active! I think I’m going to set plank reminders too =)
